Direction vs Facing in Vastu: Why They Are Not the Same
One of the most common misunderstandings in Vastu is treating house facing and energy direction as the same thing. While they are related, they are not identical.
Facing refers to the physical orientation of the main door. Direction refers to which energy actually dominates and governs the house internally. A north-facing house does not always function with north energy, just as a south-facing house is not automatically problematic.
Internal layout, blocked openings, external pressure from nearby buildings, roads, or corridors can completely alter how energy behaves inside a home. This is why two houses in the same colony, with similar layouts but opposite facings, can experience very different outcomes.
When facing is mistaken for dominance, remedies are applied at the wrong level. Corrections may appear to work temporarily but fail to stabilise long-term results.
In Aroma Vastu practice, correction begins only after identifying which direction is energetically active, not merely which direction the door opens toward. This clarity prevents repeated changes and unnecessary remedies.
Understanding the difference between direction and facing is foundational for meaningful and responsible Vastu correction.
